Grace to you and peace from our Lord, Jesus Christ.
I have several news to share and pray for. As a family of gracious and loving God, we ought to greet one another, encourage one another, pray for one another, and love one another more than ever in these distressing times.

1) Rev. Pong Eun Chung (정봉은 목사) who has retired since 1996 after having served 42 years in ministry, including 13 years at the Sacramento Korean United Presbyterian Church (now, Capital Korean Presbyterian Church) and 7 years at Milano Korean Church in Italy passed away at the age of 82 on October 3 after a brief hospitalization. Funeral worship service will be held on Oct. 7 in

한인연합장로교회 (지금의 수도한인장로교회의 전신)에서 13년, 이태리 밀라노한인교회에서 7년, 총 42년의 성역을 마치시고 1996년에 은퇴하셨습니다. 지난 약 한 달 동안 병원에 계시다가 하늘나라를 간절히 사모하는 그의 마음을 아신 하나님께서 82세를 일기로 지난 10월 3일에 소천하셨습니다. 장례 예배는 오는 10월 7일에 산호세에서 가집니다. 자녀가 없으신 목사님께는 사모님 (정화란)이 유족으로
남아계십니다.
2) Rev. Charles Chai (최용화 목사, 총회 최훈진 목사의 형님), ordained in 2000 after a long successful career as Political Science professor at universities and served at Peoria Korean PC (2000-2001) in
rededicated himself as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in 2000. To our sadness, his dream was cut short and the hospital gave up on him in treatment. He is resting at home at the present time and needs our prayer for comfort and peace. Your prayer support will give him much needed comfort. His address is Rev. Charles Chai,
(in Korean) 최용화 목사님께서 암으로 인하여 고통 가운데 있습니다. 오랫동안의 교수직을 그만두고 남은 생을 목회자로 헌신하기 위해 늦게 신학을 하시고 2000년에 나이 65세에 목사 안수를 받았습니다.
링컨트레일 대회의 피오리아 한인장로교회에서 약 1년간 시무하시고 마이아미 Shores PC 에서 부목사로 2002년부터 시무하셨는데, 그만 암으로 인하여 금년 6월말로 은퇴하시고 그 동안 약물 치료, 방사선 치료를 받았습니다만 이제는 병원도 손을 들었다고 합니다. 그의 소원이 10년간의 목회를 채우는 것이었는데 2년을 채우지 못해 안타까와하시며 지금 집에서 가료하고 계십니다. 주님 앞에 가실 날을 준비하는 목사님의 가슴에 고통 중에서도 주님이 주시는 평화와 위로가 있기를 간절히 바라면서 모두 함께 기도해 주시고 용기를 얻는 말씀을 전해 주시기를 바랍니다. 주소는 Rev. (In Korean) Ohio 콜럼버스한인장로교회 (담임목사: 이준원 목사) 에서 공사중에 가스 폭발사고로 인하여 공사 책임자가 화상을 입고 병원에 입원하는 사고가 발생했으나 다행히 인명피해는 없었다고 합니다. 기존 건물의 일부가 파손되어 당분간 예배처소를 옮겨야 합니다. 파손한 건물 복구가 신속히 이루어지고 새로 짓고 있는 다목적실 공사가 차질없이 진행되도록 기도해 주시기를 원합니다.

7) Shalom Presbyterian Church (평강장로교회, 담임목사 – 서보창 목사) at 3035 Cedar Lane, Fairfax, VA 22301 will have a special worship service for the dedication of new sanctuary and installation of elders.
8) Calling of pastor (목사 청빙) : The Korean Presbyterian Church of Tucson, Arizona (투산힌인장로교회) is searching a part or full-time pastor. See the following announcement.

If you click on RESOURCES, there will be several links to our CIF (Church Information Form), our Mission Study, and to the PIF (Pastor Information Form). Our church has really gone through a major
transition after the pastor left. We are amazed that God still brings new people to our worship. We basically have four major groups: a college group of undergrad and graduate students from
30-55 age group of couples with families, an older generation who are very traditional, and a group of non-Koreans husbands who are married to Korean women. There are only 50 members right now and
about 12 Sunday School kids. It's a very eclectic group. We will need someone who is very open-minded, loving and able to bring healing to a church body that has gone through a rough 2 years of splitting with the pastor and now being pastorless since Feb. '07.
9) Calling of EM pastor (영어목회자 청빙) : Nashville Korean Presbyterian Church (Sr. Pastor – Rev. Shin Kwang Kang) is urgently searching an EM pastor for young adults and youths. I am begging Rev. Jin S. Kim or Rev. David Choi or other EM pastors to introduce an EM pastor candidate to Rev. Shin Kwang Kang at 9704kang@hanmail.net.
10) 지난 9월 17-20일에 올랜도에서 가진 제3차 전국목회자컨퍼런스에는 전 보다는 다소 적은 80여명의 목회자들이 참석하였으나, “포스트모던시대의 창조적인 예배디자인”의 주제로 총회의 Joe Small목사와 장신대의 김세광 교수의 두 주강사의 좋은 강의와 여러 동역자들이 준비한 웍샵으로 내용이 충실한 컨퍼런스를 가졌습니다. 혹시 컨퍼런스의 내용을 담은 booklet이나 예배 참고 자료를 원하시는 분은 양인 목사
